DataBacktest was founded by Mark Corso after years of building trading research spreadsheets for friends, local investment clubs and, eventually, small professional clients. The same problem kept appearing: good people making decisions on bad data and backtests that couldn’t be reproduced.
Today we’re a small team working from Weirton, West Virginia, serving clients across the United States. We keep the business deliberately small so that every client talks to the people actually doing the work.
Our values are simple: be accurate, be transparent, and never oversell. If a strategy doesn’t hold up, we tell you — that’s what you’re paying for.
Accuracy first
Every dataset is validated and every number in a report can be traced back to its source.
Plain language
Reports are written for humans. Technical appendices are there if you want them.
Independence
We don’t sell signals or earn commissions on trades, so we have no reason to make results look better.
